I have always loved painting flowers so I decided to work on a series of gerbera daisies this summer. There are a few more still in progress but I wanted to share what I have completed thus far. These are all painted on a thick gallery-wrapped canvas with the petals painted around the sides (see bottom photo). I find that it really adds depth and an interesting feature to the painting. I also used a palette knife to create texture in the centers of the flowers.
