Are you interested in a custom, one-of-a kind oil painting? If so, I gladly accept commission work. I am most often asked to paint custom artwork that will be given as a gift, but I have also painted custom pieces that match a person’s home décor or office.

What types of custom pieces do you paint?
I can paint just about anything as long as I have a good reference photo from which to work. I have painted portraits of people, homes, pets, famous landmarks, still life etc… I’ve even painted a landscape photo someone took on their vacation. I can also make changes/additions to the painting if the photo is not complete. For example, I once painted a family pet into the front yard of a house portrait.
What do you charge?
My prices generally begin around $1.50/square inch for custom work, but that can vary based on the content of the painting. For example, anything that contains architecture will cost more because it takes more time to get those details painted correctly. The cost of a custom painting will likely be less for a painting that I feel will be simple and uncomplicated. Once you and I agree on the canvas size, the reference photo and the due date, I can give you a final quote.
How long does it take?
This depends entirely on the size of the painting and how detailed the content is, as well as how many other pieces I’m working on at the time. Before I begin on your piece, I will give you an estimated time frame for completion. Most pieces will take at a minimum 8 weeks for completion (unless it’s a small and simple painting). I don’t like to rush the creative process, but I do understand that sometimes people want a custom painting for a special occasion (birthday, Christmas etc…). If you need a custom painting by a specific date, please let me know and I will do my very best to meet your needs.

I don’t live near Nashville, TN…can you still paint a custom piece for me?
Absolutely! I have painted custom pieces for people who don’t live near me. In that case, we correspond completely via e-mail and/or phone, payments are made via PayPal or by mailing a check, and your painting is mailed to you in a specially-packed art box that is insured and comes with a tracking number. Applicable shipping charges will be added to your price quote.
I want a piece of custom artwork…what do I do next?
You can contact me via the contact form below. In the comments section, please let me know what type of painting you’re wanting, the size, if you need it by a certain date, etc… I will need a good reference photo (clear, focused, no harsh lighting etc…), if not several, from which to paint.
After we both agree on the canvas size, reference photo and due date, I will give you a price quote. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit before I can start working on your piece. Once the piece has been completed, you pay the remaining 50% balance (+shipping if applicable).
