This is my weekly studio update! We are less than 2 weeks away from my first fall show (Goodlettsville Arts and Antiques Festival, Saturday, September 12, 10 am – 4 pm, in front of Goodlettsville City Hall) so I’m starting to move quite a few pieces from the middle-stages to completion. I plan to put in some painting time each day this week so I can finish as many paintings as possible this week! Stay tuned for posts all week long as I showcase my newly completed pieces.
I signed this pumpkin painting this weekend – 5×5 oil on a thick gallery-wrapped canvas.
Here you can see the progression of this painting from left to right. First, I started by painting in my big shapes and base colors. Next, I cleaned up my shapes and values. In the final phase, I focused on darkening my darks and lightening my lights.
This painting will be available for sale at the Goodlettsville Arts and Antiques Festival (Saturday, September 12, 10 am – 4 pm, in front of Goodlettsville City Hall). If you’re interested in an advance purchase, please feel free to contact me!
