This is my weekly studio update! There are less than 3 weeks until my first fall show (Goodlettsville Arts and Antiques Festival, Saturday, September 12, 10 am – 4 pm, in front of Goodlettsville City Hall) so it’s crunch time to get as many pieces completed as possible!
First up – I added in the center to one of my sunflower paintings. Below you can see the progression of this piece. I absolutely love the textured center. I’m going to let it sit for a few days while I mull it over. I think I need to darken my darks just a tad and add in some highlights, but otherwise, it’s almost finished!
Here is another pumpkin painting I’m working on. It’s a bit different than most of the others I’ve done so far. I’ve still got to work on the background – the trees need leaves and the ground needs some work. I also need to finish the highlights/shadows on the pumpkin.
Finally, here’s another pumpkin painting in progress. Once it’s dry, I will add in my darks between the pumpkins with a glaze.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more updates!
