I painted this commission piece in 2010 for a client who wanted to give it to her sister as a Christmas gift. Nashvillians will recall and likely never forget the historic flood in May of that year. This painting is of the sister’s house which used to be in Clarksville, TN and was destroyed during the flood. As if that weren’t devastating enough, the sister’s dog passed away that same year. I really enjoyed painting this piece as I knew what a treasure it would become – I only wish I had been there to see the sister’s face when she received it!
This is a very charming and cheerful painting. Beautiful and lovely work.
